    Thank you Anonymous !

     

    I ended up adding an ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server Connector and accessing the data in Power BI through ODBC instead and it seems to work.

Hi Anonymous!   Thanks for the reply.

 

I am not able to access this server through SSMS using Windows Authentication.  I use SQL Server Authentication using a log in and password.  Does this alter any of the instructions given above?

 

Also, I did review this blog prior:

I'm unclear on what Trusted Root CA I would be looking for to verify I have it on my computer.  It mentions:  "What is missing here is the item that will cause us to trust the certificate that is being presented by SQL Server."

 

But do you know what the CA woud be called that I am looking for to verify if I have it or not?

    Thanks for your quick reply, I can feel your effort.

     

    Here is my solution to your question:

     

    1.First of all,if you want to log in using SQL Server Authentication, you can also try it, except that the first step is different, the other steps are the same. I'm not sure if your sql account can create a new login, but you can try it, it's the easiest way I've found so far.

     

    2.In my research on your problem, I found a screenshot of an error similar to yours:

     

     

    If you also encounter this problem, you can try clicking on the icon below

     

     

    3.And, if you are not sure which CA is missing, you may need to contact your IT department or SQL Server's administrator for more help. What we can see now is limited.
