You could write some formula that returns blank unless something is selected in the slicers. Something like
if(isfiltered(table[column]) && isfiltered(table[column]) && isfiltered(table[column])),<your formula>,blank())
or read my article here about hiding visuals.

Does this method still work? I have not been able to use measures as filters on cards or multi row cards.

it's a known issue that the cards doesn't allow filters
as a workaround, we can use a workaround as 2 measures to make the font and the background of the card transparent if nothing is selected.
