Card Browser resets filter

Hi all,

First of all, sorry if this question is duplicated.

I have a problem with Card Browser. I have a report with a Card Browser including Title, Author, Summary, , etc for a group of documments/books. I also have a a bar graphic for knowing the distribution by topic so it can also be used for filter the Card Browser when clicking in one of the topics.

The filter works well. However, the problem is that when a Card is clicked in the Card Browser to display the entire card containing the information of the document, the Card Browser goes back to the first card and thus the card that was selected is not displayed.

Hi,

I finally found the problem and the solution. The problem is that (at least in my version) multiple cross-filtering is not possible. Thus, in this case this case I edited the interaction so the second chart (i.e. the card browser) do not filters back the first chart that was used as filter. I've seen that multi-iltering it is possible when the interaction is edited as cross-highlight. Thus, one option is to change the interactions to cross-highlight. However, not all the charts allow cross-highlight so it is not possible to do in all the cases and may requiere changing the type of chart.

Hope it helps others of the community.

If my assumption that multiple cross-filtering is not possible, I'd suggest the developers to work also on make it as functional as cross-highlighting by using control + clicks.

Regards!

Thanks for your interest. Below find a screenshot. The chart in the left is the one I want to be use to filter the results in the Card Browser on the right. For intantce, let's imagine that I want to select the one marked in red because I only want the 3 cards to be displayed.

Screenshot 1Screenshot 1

The problem is that when I click in one of this 3 cards for reading, instead of the selected card being displayed, the Card Browser shows again all the cards and automatically displays the text of the first 1 and not the one selected after filtering. In the image below you will note that the documents have not the same titles.

Hi @jsantas ,

When you click one option in the first visual, the second  visual will return the corresponding result, then when you click the second visual which has been filtered by the first visual, it will reset the filter in the second visual. This behavior is by design ,which will be convenient for users to filter again.

If you would like both the visual to be filtered in sync, you may press the Ctrl + left click to choose the first visual  and then click the second filtered visual .

Best Regards,

Amy
