Cannot save pbix files when allowing preview feature TMDL view

I can work fluently when developing new reports, but I encounter an issue when connecting to a dataset in the Power BI service.

The dataset was developed in Visual Studio with partitions on the fact table by year and then published to the Power BI service. However, when I connect to it using Power BI Desktop to build reports, I am unable to save the file.

Interestingly, if I use the same report file without the TMDL view feature enabled, I can work and save the report without any issues.

    Hi DanielS_Waves ,

     

    Since the TMDL view feature is currently in the preview stage, it might not be fully stable or compatible with all data models, especially those with complex configurations like partitioned fact tables.

     

    There are known issues with certain features of preview functions, and their performance can vary across different versions of Power BI Desktop.

     

    I would recommend checking if you're using the latest version of Power BI Desktop, as this could resolve some of the issues you are facing.
