Cannot publish to Power BI

Hi,

With Power BI Desktop Version: 2.129.905.0 64-bit (May 2024) the Publish pop-up changed and somehow I cannot publish reports anymore to Power BI. No possibility to close the pop-up, no possibility to confirm selected destination.

Anyone else experience similar issue?

Manage to resolve the issue with below configuration.

go to File -> Options and Settings -> Options and disable “Enhanced Publish dialogs”

close and re-open Power Bi will do. Hope this helps.

UPDATE

I just got an information that Product Team declared it as a bug and it will be fixed in June release.

@SDdong You are right. You can fix the problem via disabling “Enhanced Publish dialogs” or like @kdqdk sugested below. However, still it is not an acceptable solution. Publishing is one of  basic Power BI funcionalities and under any circumstances shoud not be negatively impacted by Preview Features enabled by default by Microsoft.

Although all your reports are greyed out you can still hit the select button at the bottom right of that menu.
First press escape when you dont see the Select button. Now Publish again, and then I see the Select button.
Then you succesfully upload. I do admit that this does not look intuitively.

I have the same issue as you, there is no select button on the publish screen.

Hope someone here can help to resovle the issue.

I and many other colleagues of mine experience the same issue. Luckily you can also upload the report from Power BI service but Microsoft need to fix this urgently!

If the 'Select' button does not appear, click on your <Esc> on your pc and then 'Publish' again.

That works for me.

Hi @karo - As per May 2024 month updates from MSFT, You may choose a specific workspace and folder for your report when you publish it. It's easier than ever to organize your Power BI content from Desktop thanks to the user-friendly, straightforward UI.

Thank you for reply, but  I am afraid that this is rather a bug ...

No worries, it is not a bug.. new features are getting added on it.

From my perspective it is a bug. You cannot publish to Power BI. The funcionality is simply not working. Even if it is connected with new releases like introducing Folders, the funcionality Publish should work when you do not have the folders implemented yet.

That's fine, you can report or share your feedback in above shared link itself.

once you turn on this preview feature you will get to add it or uncheck the preview feature  "Enhanced Publish dialog" from PowerBi Option for time being and publish it.

if it is not required, you can turn off and publish the report.

Thank you
