I am unable to group fields in pivot table of Excel file.
Graffiti table is linked with Calendar table via Date (in PowerPivot > Data Model), so why is there difficulty in grouping the following.
However if I unlink the tables (which is what I DO NOT want to do), then it works

That is really sad. Combined two tables to extend the data and now I cannot group.
Surely there must be a workaround.

As far as i know, the Grouping featue is deactivated on Pivot Tables created via the Data Model.

For better response, I'd suggest you post in the dedicated Power Pivot Forum. There're more experts there.
Hi, whenever you group some rows, excel creates a parent - child hierarchy (See the picture above). In your case the problem appears because of a new included value in the parent field (Group 1). This value isn't related with the Date Table then the error message pops up when you try to do the grouping.
