Cannot get embed code - contact your Administrator - but I am the global administrator.

Hi

I login to Microsoft 365 Admin Center and my name and email show up as Global Administrator.

But when I open a report in my workspace and go to File > Embed Report > Publish to web I get:
"Contact your admin to enable embed code creation".

What am I missing?

Thanks, Mark.

  • Hi, Skemaz

    Step-1:

    • Sign in Power BI with your Admin account.
    • Go to the Settings option from the top of the page.
    • Click on the Admin portal.

    Step-2:

    • Click on Tenant settings from the left navigation.
    • Expand Publish to web option from the right downside of the page.
    • Enable this Publish to Web option if it was not enabled.
    • As per your requirement, choose how embed codes work either with only allow existing codes or Allow existing and new codes.
    • As per your requirement, Apply the Publish to web option either to The entire organization or to any specific security groups.
    • Once it is done, Click on Apply button as shown below.
