Cannot copy measures between .pbix files due to compatibility level

Hi all!

I have an existing dataset (let's call this OLD.pbix) and I want to copy all of it's measures over into a new dataset (let's call this NEW.pbix) - both are .pbix files.

I have opened both OLD.pbix and NEW.pbix through Tabular Editor (via the 'External tools' ribbon in Power BI Desktop), and on trying to copy and paste the measures over, I get the following error: 

"The database compatibility level of 1550 is below the minimal compatibility level of 1567 needed"

What is confusing me is that the OLD.pbix is at compatibility level 1567, and NEW.pbix is being created at compatibility level 1550. I've also tried creating a new dataset direct from the Power BI service, and this starts life at compatibility level 1561 - so still too early.

How can I get a new .pbix file to be at compatibility level 1567, so that I can utilise the existing measures I have? There are 261 measures, so I really don't want to be having to recreate these individually in the new model!

I can see how it's possible to increase the compatibility level in Tabular Editor when it's a .bim file - but the ability to change the value is greyed out when it's a .pbix file.

Edit: should have mentioned, my PBI Desktop version is 2.115.1006.0 64-bit (March 2023)

Managed to find a GitHub post which led me to a solution:

While I'm not sure exactly what change I made in OLD.pbix that bumped it up to compatibility version 1567 (supposedly something to do with ChangedProperties), using the details of the different levels here: https://notes.mthierba.net/power-bi/analysis-services/tom-compatibility-levels pointed me to adjusting the number of parallel loads (File, Options, Current File, Data Load, Parallel loading of tables) - and hey presto, that update the file to compatibility level 1568.

Seems crazy that this issue can actually exist though...
