Hi All,
I am trying to connect to an excel file which is on sharepoint for some reason i was not able to make a successful connection to the file. I am getting an error (please see picture below). This is the first time i am seeing an error like api/web/getfilebyserverrelativeurl. I couldn't find anything over the internet with this error. If anyone of you have any idea on this please comment.

Hi @Irwan
It was all happening due to my PBI desktop was not updated to the most recent version. Once I updated the deskptop version the error went off and I could access the file.
Thank you!
hello @Deelip
try to connect to sharepoint folder, not directly to excel file.
after connected to sharepoint, there will be a list of files contained in sharepoint.
From there, you can select your excel file.
in my case, here is the screenshot (my sharepoint access is in the third layer).
Thank you.
Hi @Irwan
Thank you for providing your input on this.
I tried to find the file using your root cause, unfortunately, I couldn't locate that particular folder/file from my sharepoint.com. I could see all other files which I have been using except this file. I believe this is something issue related to the sharepoint admin configuration on this file.
I will post the outcome of this issue once I hear from my IT team.
hello @Deelip
if you have huge database contained many files, then it might be hidden (which i got confused in first place).
so in my case, i need to transform my data to find. As mentioned in footnote, the preview is truncated so you might not find your file directly especially if you sharepoint is huge.
from there, in Folder Path, i need to search where i stored my excel file.
However, if you think this is an issue from IT then let see if they can figure out the issue.
Hope this will help you.
Thank you.
