Cannot add a parameter in direct query mode ??

My power bi desktop version is  2.79.5768.721 64-bit (March 2020)   I am tyring to add a parameter while Transform data step, which I did, and then I say close and apply, then I get this error, I ...

Anonymous what is your data source? If it is a live connection or direct query to SSAS MD, you cannot make any changes to the model.
