Cannot Sign In to Power BI Desktop with Personal Email
I am using Power BI Desktop 64-bit at home for personal use.
When I try to sign in, it requires a work or school email, and my personal Gmail accounts are rejected.

I don’t have a work or organizational account, as I’m using Power BI Desktop on my personal device.
After updating Power BI Desktop to the latest version, the issue was resolved and it’s now working fine.
I really appreciate your support.

To access Power BI service features you need a corporate or organizational email address. Does your school have a Microsoft Tenant ID ?

Power BI Desktop sign-in requires a work or school (Microsoft Entra ID) account. Personal emails like Gmail or Outlook.com cannot be used to access Power BI Service features.
What you can do:
You can still use Power BI Desktop offline with a personal email (build reports, load data locally), but you cannot sign in or publish.
If you want full access (sign in, publish, refresh, Service features), you need a work/school tenant.
Best options for learning at home:
Create a free Microsoft 365 Developer tenant (recommended). This gives you a valid work account and a sandbox Power BI environment.
Use a work/school email if you already have one (company or university).
Join a company tenant as a guest user (if allowed).
There’s no workaround to make Gmail work directly with Power BI Service — this is a licensing and identity requirement, not a Desktop limitation.
