Cannot Connect to Google Big Query Data Source
When trying to connect to a Google Big Query data source using the native connector, some of our users are getting the following error:
This seems to have started with the October update to PBI desktop.
Other things we know:
- We are able to connect to GCP with the user specified in the authentication process, with no issue.
- The error happens either using the "recent sources" path to connect, or trying to establish a new connection.
- We have tried deleting any cached connections to Big Query and started from step one. This did not resolve the issue.
- We experience this on older and brand new .pbix files.
- The error happens to some users, but not others. We are a large enterprise where PBI versions are managed. Accordingly we should all be on the same PBI version, build, etc.
- This used to work without issue;
- Installing a local ODBC driver to work around this, is not an option (see statement about large enterprise, managed machines, etc.)
This is a significant risk/blocker item for us as connection issues to our primary data platform (Big Query) would potentially stop any further expansion of PBI use. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

HI Anonymous,
Did this issue only appear on the specific account? Have you tested these accounts with different devices to confirm if they related to the device?

BTW, any particular policy for settings that enabled on these accounts? Did you add power bi service white list to your devices?
