Can you get the workspace name to show in the report?

I'm creating a template report and I'd like to show the workspace name of where the report exists within the footer of the report. In Cognos we used to use parameters with some variables to be able to grab this information and show whether you are in DEV or Prod for example.

Is there anyway to grab the workspace name that a report resides in within PBI desktop?

Hi @Brandimore

Unfortunately, there’s no built-in way to dynamically display the workspace name where a Power BI report is published. Power BI Desktop does not have access to service-level metadata, such as the workspace name.

A common workaround is to decide on the workspace name in advance and manually add it as static text (e.g., in a card or text box) within the report. When publishing, ensure the report is placed in the workspace with the corresponding name.
