Can't modify filters on this visual data source

Hi All,

I am very new to Power BI so apologies if this is a simple question. 

Building a dashboard for surveys done from Month to Date and at the start of the month  and since there aren't any surveys done, "(Blank)" is shown. 

My thought was to have a filter value on the right side by filtering by just only showing items when the value ISN't blank but I can't input anything or modify the drop down.

At an impase right now. Thoughts on what I should do?

@gabegapSRV , Use a Relative date slicer. You can use interactions in case you do not want the slicer not to work on some of the visuals
