Can't display the data because Power B cannot determine the relationship

HI,

I am attempting to create a chart however I keep getting an Error message saying that Power BI cannot determine the relationships between the fields. I have a set of data that I connected to a calendar table created in Power BI by a bridge table i created. I am unable to connect the data straight to the calendar because they need to match by "Period" (ex: 2018Q2) and I do not have unique values so I needed to make the bridge. When I try and put them into the chart this message comes up:

This is the connection of the data I have, I want to connect them by period. I have changed the relationships with both Single and Both directions, and it doesnt work with any combination of them. I am hoping there is a way to feed the connection between "Query1" and "Execl" so they can be related.

    Hi alisonpappas ,

You could try to use the function of CROSSFILTER. Or you may use Merge Queries (Table.NestedJoin) in Query Editor.

  • The Join between period and Query1 one does not seem fine.  Anyways try making it bi-directional
