Can't copy paste visuals in desktop
Hello jbrooi
I have had the same problem for a while now and nothing I did seemed to fix the issue.
Is there any chance you are working with Citrix or a similar Remote Client?
I found a workaround in the community:
https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Desktop/Bug-in-the-new-May-Update-Copy-and-Paste-of-Visuals/m-p/4723886#M1410115
This suggests to first close the remote client and also all related tasks. After that I restarted Power BI Desktop and copy and paste worked again just fine.
I hope this might help you as well.
Hi jbrooi ,
Annoying issue, I know. Sometimes even after updating to the latest version, copy & paste of visuals in desktop doesn’t play nice. One thing you could try is restarting your computer after the update (I know, classic IT move, but it fixes clipboard weirdness sometimes). Also, double-check if you’ve got any clipboard manager apps running that might interfere.
If that doesn’t help, see if running the app as admin makes a difference or try copying/pasting visuals between different reports (sometimes only one file bugs out).
If it’s still not working, it might be a new bug in this June 2025 build. You could roll back to a previous version just for now if this is blocking your work.
Let us know what you tried and if anything changed.

Hi burakkaragoz ,
Thank you for the proposed solutions.
Restarting my computer solved the issue, for a little while but after a while/some hours it didn't anymore. Which to me is not clear why this happens. I don't have clipboard manager apps running that I am aware of.
copying/pasting visuals between different reports didn't work in several files I tried.
It seems it is still/again a bug?

Hi jbrooi,
Thanks for confirming the behavior still persists even after restarting, Since this appears to be a after the June 2025 (v2.144.679.0) build and is affecting the functionality, I recommend raising a formal support ticket with the Microsoft Power BI team.
Below is the link to raise support ticket.
