Super UserFor simplicity's sake and if combining the data in Power Query isn't computationally expensive, I would follow lbendlin 's suggestion especially if there are other dimension that the two fact table shares. You need to make sure that prior to appending that the common dimensions between the two have the same names so if you create the start of week, rename that to Date if the other table uses Date.
If this isn't feasible, you can virtually establish the relationship between last year's data and the Dates table using a measure. For example:
CALCULATE (
SUM ( LastYear[value] ),
TREATAS ( VALUES ( dimDate[week column] ), LastYear[week column] )
)
+ SUM ( CurrentYear[value] )
This should display values from both tables in a single visual, using the columns from the Dates table. Naturally, last year’s data cannot be shown at daily granularity since it is only available at the weekly level.
