Hi, I have an issue here... My system got restarted, and then the Power BI file I opened showed that it was corrupt and couldn't open. Somehow it is open, and everything is working fine in the dashboard, but I am not able to save it when i going to the save as option and clicking in the save location it it not responding. i using power Bi Desktop

Hi @AbhishekSahu9,
Since the dashboard is still open and functional, you can try this first:
Save as a Copy: Instead of using the "Save" or "Save As" options directly, try exporting your report by going to File → Export → Power BI Template (.pbit). This might bypass the corruption issue and let you save most of your work.
Copy to a New File: Create a new Power BI file and copy the visualizations, data model, and measures manually if the template export doesn't work. This is a bit tedious but can save your work if nothing else does.
Hi @AbhishekSahu9 ,
This issue usually happens due to one of the following reasons — here’s a quick checklist to help you troubleshoot:
Check your license
Make sure your Power BI Pro license is active. Sometimes expired or missing licenses can block saving.
Sensitivity labels
If your organization uses sensitivity labels (like Confidential, Restricted), try changing the label to something less restrictive. A few users have reported that switching to “Restricted” allowed them to save the file.
Live connection limitations
If your report is using a live connection to a dataset in Power BI Service, you might not be able to save it as a regular .pbix file. Try using File > Save As and see if that works.
Permissions
If you're working in a shared or premium workspace, make sure you have the right permissions to save or edit the file.
Try signing out and back in
It sounds simple, but a few users mentioned that signing out of Power BI Desktop and signing back in helped resolve the issue temporarily.
Let me know which setup you're using (import vs live connection, workspace type, etc.) and I can help dig deeper.

Hi @AbhishekSahu9,
Thank you @MattiaFratello for your inputs to the query.
Additional points which you can refer to:
After you export your file as a .pbit template and open it again, you’ll need to refresh the data because templates don’t save the actual data just the structure and layout.
If you're having this problem with other files too, it’s a good idea to check if your Power BI Desktop is up to date. Some older versions had issues saving files, and updates often fix those kinds of bugs.
If the response has addressed your query, please accept it as a solution and give a 'Kudos' so other members can easily find it.
Thank You!
