Can't Connect to Power BI Service Data Set

I have created a workspace and published a dataset, report and added a Dashboard to it.   I have added another Pro user from my organisation to the group, they can see the report and the dashboard,...

    nickdewitt,

    Based on your description, you grant the users read only permission on the group, in this case, the users can't see the datasets in the group and they are unable to connect to the datasets in Power BI Desktop.

    Please grant the permission to your users as shown in the screenshot, this way, the users will be able to connect to the dataset in Power BI Desktop.

    Ah yes i see it now, on the workspace settings in Power BI, not on the member page for the group (they all had edit access there).
