Can't Change format in PBI Desktop while data source is Data Mart

Hi Everyone,

I'm storing my data in Data Mart.

In Power Query online, I changed format to percentage but data is not being stored as percentage in Data Mart, I think Data Mart is storing data type same with Data Base, so they are being stored as Decimal Number. 

I was thinking we can change column format under PBI Desktop Column tools but as PBI desktop connected to Data Mart, it's passive. Are there a way to change column format in PBI Desktop when connected to Data Mart?

Direct query is connected live so any changes made here should be in the cloud/ server also as they are connected live, that is not a good practice. while in import mode you dowload the data and not connected to live connection so you can change whatever you want.

Regarding your issue, please change the connection mode from 'Live connection' to 'Direct query'.

Thanks v-zhouwen-msft, this allowed me to change format.
