Can someone from another computer update the data that is used to populate the graphs I have?

Hello, I was curious if it was a possibilty that someone on my team gain access to my Power BI Desktop project and edit that data that populates the tables I have in my project?

I currently have the tables deplayed on Microsoft Teams for my team to see, but I would like someone else on the team to be able to edit the data in Power BI Desktop from their computer so that it impacts the table.

I see that you can edit the tables themselves, but haven't been able to find anything where they can update the actual data.

Thank you!

Matt

Do you know where I can go to edit this access?

Also, I could set up an auto-refresh too, correct?

Thank you for your help!

Hi @Anonymous

What is the source of your data. If it is Excel then right click on the file and you will get a "Give access to" option.

On Power BI desktop, you cannot have auto refresh option. You will have to do adhoc refresh.

Hi @Anonymous

Grant edit access to the table so that your team can edit/add/delete the data.

But, still you would have to refresh the desktop PBI to get the updated data.
