Can not add to gateway

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone help me with the gateway error "Can not add to gateway " & " Extension{"extensionDataSourceKind":"PowerBI","extensionDataSourcePath":"PowerBI"} ".

I have one report/ dataset and source for it is Dataflow. Now I have requirement to change dataflow and I need to configure it to other gateway, but It is not supporting to add my new dataflow to new gateway.

Hi @Anonymous,

Did you mean to directly change the datasource of the report that hosts on the power bi service side?

If that is the case, currently power bi service did not support this. You need to change your pbix file configurations and publish them to replace the old one.
In addition, you can also try to parameterize your data source connection string then you can change it on the power bi service side. (the new one should have same data structure as original data source)

For power bi refresh, the data source configuration should same as the report defined, or the gateway can't manage/handle refresh of these datasets.
