Can a card have a relationship ❤ with a zoom slider

Scatter chart. I have years of stuff on the x axis. Y-axis is the count of stuff. I have added a card with the total number of stuff. I put a zoom slider on the years axis. If I drag the circles I wanted to see the total in the card change, as if the zoom slider is filtering it. It does not seem to work.

I've looked in Format > Edit Interactions and the filter icon is selected. Both the scatter chart and card use fields from the same table, so the data IS related.

Is it as simple as the zoom slider's effect does not pass to related visuals? 😢

Zoom sliders do not filter the rest of the data they only adjusts the level of detail being displayed in a visual. If you want to archieve that result the best way would be to use a slicer.

You can have a similar experience using the Between mode:

There is also a timeline slicer in the AppSource.

Thanks Jorge, I hadn't seen the Between option before. I think it had only used slicers for categories and this only appears when you slice by dates. You live and learn!

Sorry, I need to add a further comment to this, which I hope will help others. The slider acted as if it was hiding data when I dragged it, rather than zooming in. What I had done was set the minimum on the x-axis to a measure MinYear, and this stopped the zoom effect.
