Hello Everyone,
I have a model which connects to a MS-SSAS cube. Not sure what specific type of cube it is.
I need to create new measures but when I attempt to do so, I do not get the formula bar to enter the DAX measure code.
Because the ribbon and context menu on the data pane show me "New Measure", I assume that this is permissible, but the formula bar never appears.
When I go with either method of creating the new measure, "Measure/MLeasure1/Measure2..." show up on the data pane, but I never get a formula bar.
Can anyone help me understand how to do this?
Thanks in advance,
Rich

Hey @Anonymous ,
currently, I'm able to connect live to an SQL Server Analysis database, and I'm able to create measures.
One database is a
I'm 100% sure that creating measures from within Power BI Desktop against an on-premises SQL Server Analysis Seervices Tabular (SQL Server 2016 onwards) database is possible as well.
Unfortunately, I can not test this, because I'm on vacation.
I'm not sure about SSAS Multidimensional instances, I think this is also possible, but requires a specific version.
If you have a Tabular instance and it does not work, I recommend raising a support ticket as this video from 2017 explains how it should work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yezgr3QN9hw
Hopefully, this helps to tackle your challenge.
Regards,
Tom
