Can Custom Visual capability be prevented in Power BI Desktop? (Enterprise)

We have started a handfull of Power BI Desktop customers in my company.  I'd like to configure our Power BI Desktop installs to prevent custom visuals, to reduce risk of a user downloading a security risk disguised as a custom visual.

Is there a way to do this?

tljthree Everything coming from visuals.powerbi.com is reviewed. But there is nothing within the Desktop that would restrict a user from downloading and using custom visuals. I would assume that this could be done from a network perspective though... Block the site from allowing your company users from downloading anything. (saying this based on other controlled environments that I've seen)

    Hi tljthree,

Based on what I know, Power BI desktop don’t have any options available to disable custom visuals from importing.

You may consider to block the webpages as Eno1978 suggested. But either blocking from Internet Explorer security zones or through Windows Firewall settings with group policy (Or if the domain has been implemented with other firewall software, check with the manufacturer and see if they could offer any further assistance regarding blocking single website page), it should both work on the app.powerBI.com website, which might have influence on the Power BI service usage. Apologize to say that currently I am not available to test this, you may need to perform a test and check it out.

In addition, please consider submit an idea on this topic, to have Power BI built with some customization options.
