Calculated Column in transactional table and not dimensional table

Hi all!

I have a calculated column in a transactional table. It contains for each article mutiple rows per week. This transactional table is linked to a dimension table. The calculated column is a simple TRUE / FALSE column

The dimensional table contains each article once.

Now I have a report / table that shows me all articles. I take the articles from the dimensional table.

Then I use a slicer / filter with the calculated column TRUE / FALSE.

I don't know why, but I get all articles displayed.

Why is the TRUE / FALSE not working here? Probably due to the relation between both tables, right? Since it points single from dimensional table to transactional table.

How can I fix this without changing the relation?

This is probably of your filter direction. Please take a look on the relationship in your data model.

In this example my dimensions table can filter the fact table but not the other wa around.

    2 ways to solve it.

    1) change the following setting (doubl-clik on relation) to both. But be aware this can lead to unwanted behaviour on other pages visuals etc.

    after setting to both

    2) you build a mesure combining CALCULATE() and USERELATIONSHIP()  depending on your needs. WIth USERELATIONSHIP you can change the filter direction for the specific measures.

USERELATIONSHIP function (DAX) - DAX | Microsoft Learn

    Best regards
    Michael
