Calculate a calculated column based on slicer

Hello all,

 

I need some help with the following issue:

 

Some background information

I have a log file which contains scanned products by a vision system.

Each row is a unique product and consists of a timestamp and fields like length, width, height, barcode etc..

I want to create a graphic which contains for each hour the amount of products scanned by the vision system.

But the X-axis should be fixed (0-24 h). 

For example the product started at 6 AM till 10 PM, the graphic should still start at 0 AM and go on till 12 PM.

 

I fixed this by creating a new table with one column which contains the hours and then created a calculated column which calculates for each hour the amount of products.

 

My problem:

The log file contains products from multiple days.

I want to select a day with a slicer and then it should perform the re-calculate the calculated column for each hour.

 

But I don't get this working, is there a way to solve this?

    Anonymous , You can not use slicer value in a column , you need to create a measure only

      But is there a way to use a measure to calculate a column instead of one value?

    Hi Anonymous ,

     

    Not like measures, calculate columns/tables are computed during database processing(e.g. data refresh) and then stored in the model, they do not response to user selections on the report.

    So it is not possible to create a calculate column/table can change dynamically with user selections on the report.

     

    For measure in this case，sample data without sensitive information and expected output would help tremendously.
