Calculate YTD Sold vs Last Year YTD

I have this table:

joshs444_0-1678567369234.png

It is just item number in rows, year in column, and sum quantity in value.

I would like to create the same table, but instead of the total for the year in previous years, I would like it to calculate the total based on the YTD time in the current year.

So if this year total is only from Jan-March, I would like the other columns to have totals that only included dates in their respective year from Jan-March.

Im sure there is a time intelligence funciotn for this. Any help is appreciated

Ill go through it thanks.

I also found a workaround, making a calculated column in my date table to say "YES" if the month/day in the current year has happened in past years:

YTD =

IF (
    [Date] > TODAY(),
    "No",
    IF (
        OR (
            [MonthNumber] < MONTH(TODAY()),
            AND (
                [MonthNumber] = MONTH(TODAY()),
                [DayNumber] <= DAY(TODAY())
            )
        ),
        "Yes",
        "No"
    )
)

@joshs444 What does your source data look like? Sorry, having trouble following, can you post sample data as text and expected output?
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

Also, please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

Source data is just sales data. Date, item number, and quantity sold. It is also linked to a date table.

The quantity is just a sumx  measure
