Button slicer not syncing across pages
I have a classic slicer set to sync across multiple pages. It works fine and my selection carries across all the selected pages. But when I change the visual type for this slicer to the new button slicer, the selection is not applied to the other pages even though in the sync clicers panel it shows that it is.
I've tried to delete the faulty button slicer, go to a page where it is synced, select the slicer and re-check the sync button for the page where I just deleted it so it appears again on this page. Selection is now good and is applied to the other pages. But when I change it to the new slicer button, it stops applying my selection to the other pages. Is there something I'm missing?
Hi MrGug ,
- Slicers can sync across pages only if they are based on the same field and are of the same type.If you manually change the visual type (such as switching from List to Dropdown).
- Power BI treats them as different for syncing purposes if the change is done manually rather than through the Sync Slicers pane.
- sync limitation : The sync slicers feature only supports one field at a time. If your slicer has more than one field (Category or Measure), the sync slicers feature is disabled.

hello MrGug
i have tried mine. the new button slicer can be synced to other pages.
i am assumed you have changed all your sync slicer into the same the new button slicer and sync them.
if it did not sync, try to select other syncronized slicer then see if the new button slicer get synced.
if it is still not working, then perhaps you need to update PBI.
Thank you.

It works when I create a slicer from scratch but when I just change the visual type it stops syncing. I had read that the 2 types of slicers should be able to sync between pages but it does not seem to be the case. Thanks for your response!

Thanks. The only thing I would add is that the sync check box remains checked in the slicer sync panel even if the sync is not active anymore after the slicer type has been changed. It should be disabled automatically to avoid confusion.
