I have a button that works exactly the way I want it to, but for some reason when I add a title, it does not work. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to resolve it?
Solved! Go to Solution.
It is the only button I have in the report as of now, I ended up just making one with the information icon with a text box beside of it and it works fine. It does seem like a bug that needs to be fixed. The button is just using a bookmark to do a specific filter.
Even I faced the same problem. To overcome that, use the text option to achieve the results. You will find it on Format Button > Button Style > Text. There you can add text and you will be able to see the text on button.
Hi @owenbolick
When you add a title to your button, it's possible that the title layer is inadvertently placed over the button, making the button unselectable. Ensure that the button is on the top layer and not obscured by any other elements, including the title text. You can adjust the layering by selecting the button or title and using the "Bring forward" or "Send backward" options.
If you're adding a title through the button's properties and it's causing the button to malfunction, consider using the button's Button Text property instead of adding a separate title. This way, the text becomes part of the button itself, reducing the chance of interference.

Sometimes, objects placed too close to each other can cause selection issues. Make sure there's a clear space around your button that doesn't overlap with the title or any other report elements.
If the above solutions do not resolve the issue, could you please provide more details:
How are you adding the title to the button? (e.g., using the Button Text property, placing a text box over the button, etc.)
What is the exact behavior when you say the button does not work? (e.g., is it not clickable, does the action not trigger, etc.)
Are there any error messages or visual cues that might indicate what's going wrong?
Best Regards

Hi @v-zhengsxu-msft,
I tried sending the button forward but it still does not work. The button function is just to do a filter that I have as a bookmark and it works perfectly when there is no title. It's really strange behavior, I've never had this issue before. I think I am just going to make the button smaller and insert a text box beside it stating the buttons function.
@owenbolick does it happen only on specific button in report or it has same issue for all existing and new buttons?
Is it specific type of button and what is action of this button?
It seems like a bug, try restarting Power BI desktop application.
If nobody has same issue and solution, alternative is to add text box above button instead of title.
But, it looks like a bug that should be solved.
Cheers,
