Hello everyone!
I am trying to connect to a Business Central by using their standard API v2.0.
I can connect to them (as long as the table doesn't have too many entries) and get data from it.
But it takes forever, as in max load speed of 1 Mbps.
I feel like i've tried everything to make it go faster, but i'm at a loss.
Let me know if you need more info, and as always, any help is greatly appreciated. 🙂
You are at a loss because using PowerBI to get data from business central is slow, very very slow.
Data you can get out of SQL database in seconds will take minutes or 10's of minutes and it's not simple.
Business Central is designed as a closed system, and the only way to get the data out quickly is to sue the tools inside. PowerBI as a tool in a use case outside of a demo is not ready.
You can export to Excel, save the file and then open it in Power a lot faster than using the API.
I type this as I wait for simple income statement data to get pulled into Powerbi.
A few thousand rows, it's going to take over an hour. Just silly.
