Hi Everyone,
I have a few tables which are all connected to a Master Date table at a month level. All of these tables also have a field called "lead owner" or "created by" which need to be joined to my second master table called "sales rep". I can use the Lookup function to pull the sales rep into each of these tables but I have a visual which uses fields from all tables and I want to be able to create a slicer called "sales rep" and filter this visual. I am currently able to use a date slicer coz all the tables are connected to the date table. When I try to build the secondary relationship I get an error saying, "there are ambiguous paths between" two or more tables. Any ideas on how I can go about this?
Please read about star schema data models. Then correct yours.
Hi @lbendlin ,
Thanks for your reply. I tried following the below picture but to no avail. This star schema below shows all fact tables joined to one master table with unique keys but in my case all my tables are joined to one date table making the date table a master table. and hence I'm unable to connect all my tables to the sales rep table
The picture you show is an idealized version. It is ok to have multiple fact tables. It is not ok to have joins between them. They all need to be controlled by the dimension tables.
