Bug: Previously Set Up Conditional Formatting Disappeared from New Card Visual in Latest Versions
- 10 months ago
Hi Mesalomee
Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
In Power BI versions released after April 2025 including the September 2025 update users have reported that conditional formatting settings for the New Card visual are no longer visible or editable through the UI. Although the formatting still applies in the background, the ability to view or modify these settings is missing in both Power BI Desktop and the Power BI Service.
Microsoft has acknowledged this issue and is actively working on a resolution. The September 2025 QFE 2 update (version 2.147.1085.0) addressed a related bug where conditional formatting did not function correctly when small multiples were not used. However, some users continue to experience the issue, particularly with older reports.
As GeraldGEmerick the New Card visual is still a preview feature, so such inconsistencies may occur until it reaches general availability.
Earlier, the March 2025 QFE 5 update (version 2.141.1754.0, released April 16, 2025) resolved a bug where conditional formatting failed on New Card visuals without small multiples. That fix appears to apply mainly to new visuals created after the update. Older reports may still experience UI visibility issues in later versions.
For more details and ongoing updates, please refer to the official Microsoft Power BI documentation and stay updated via the Power BI release notes.

Mesalomee The New Card visual is still a preview feature so these kinds of things can happen.
