Bookmarks - Keep drilldown as defined by bookmark, but keep filter defined by user
I have bookmarks that I use to show reports at different levels for the visuals. For example, I'll show the visual split by department, team or sub-team for 3 different bookmarks.
Separately to that, the user has the ability to filter the report down to only show a separate department, team or sub-team.
As far as I can tell, if I unselect 'Data' in the bookmark option it will keep the filter the user has selected when they change view (this is a good thing!), but it also has the effect that it loses the different drill-down view I have set on the visual.
So I am looking for how I can:
- Keep the view I've created including the level of the drill down; BUT
- Not remove the filter a user has applied if they switch between views.
Is this possible?
Thanks
KC

To keep the drill down level when switching between two bookmarks,
Based on my test, this is not available now.
Users have to click the drill down button again.
You could submit this idea here.
You could preserve filter selection through bookmark.

Thanks Maggie,
I have found that you can keep the drill down view but it appears to be linked to the 'Data' option when you right click the bookmark. Unfortunately, the retaining user filters also appears to be linked to 'Data'.
I'm curious if anyone has a work around that allows me to keep the drill down per the bookmark, but retain whatever filters the user has applied.
Cheers

You can achieve this by using the "selected visuals" option within the bookmark. I was able to crtl-select only the visuals where I wanted to preserve a drilldown and then choose "selected visuals". Switching bookmarks then only adjusted the drilldown heirarchy on the visuals and did not reset the user filters.
