Hi All
Does anyone know if one can export bookmarks from one model to another?
To paint the picture my scenario is as follows:
--------------------------------------------------
I have a model that was developed in PBI Desktop that connects to a SQL DB. This model has been in development for quite some time and makes use of a number of Bookmarks for navigational reasons. I am now trying to make use of Power Bi Datasets, I have created my Dataset model, this entailed me deleteing the report sheets from my current reporting model and publshing this as the Dataset to my new Dataset Workspace.
I then have a PBI App workspace that will then house the App / Report side of this model. In order to make use of the new Dataset I have created and published, I had to create a new model, connect that to my Dataset using the Power BI Datasets connector.
I can then copy over the reports from my old model to the new model. That all works fine, HOWEVER, Bookmarks don't seem to carry over, I assume because I deleted the reports from the Dataset I can no longer access them... Is there a way to export Bookmarks or copy bookmarks from one model to another? am I missing something?
In essence, at the end of this, the model output would be exactly the same. The reports and the actual data used would be exactly the same, the old one would be a SQL connection in the model and the new split out version would be the same visual reports tying back to the new Power Bi Dataset. Hope that all makes sense.
I believe there are a couple of ideas for that on the ideas.powerbi.com site. Not sure how high up in the requested feature list it is though.
