Bookmark navigator selection and show/hide panel bookmarks

Hi there,

I am having a problem co-ordinating the display of bookmarks in my PBI report.

Essentially, I have a slicer panel that has three tiers of filters arranged in a bookmark navigator. Users can select filters in location, date and job info categories.

The problem I am having is the display when hiding/showing the panel using additional bookmarks. When showing the panel and making a selection and then hiding again, the problem arises when reopening the bookmark panel. The panel shows the view of the bookmark panel when the show slicer panel bookmark was created. This was bookmarked with hire date selected.

The attached screenshot below shows that whilst location was the last tier to be selected by the user when the bookmark panel was open, however it's showing the filters that are assigned to the hire date category when show panel bookmark clicked. Clicking onto the location button corrects this and displays the assigned filters, but it should be doing this automatically.

The bookmark settings for show panel are ticked for display and selected visuals.

Hi there,

Thank you very much for your response and the time it took to build out a solution. Apologies for my late reply, I was away and only just been able to respond.

Unfortunately your solution did not solve my problem. I believe it's a limitation of bookmarking when using bookmark navigators in conjunction with a show button. The bookmark for show will always capture the view of the slicer panel on the selected navigtor panel. In my example the show bookmark was set to the hire date filter group, so when a user interacts with the panel and hides and shows again, the view will revert to this.

I might be wrong but I've done some extensive googling and playing around and nothing seemed to work so I am thinking this is the issue.

Thank you again for your time though, very appreciated @Anonymous 🙂

Please make sure unclick the 'data' property before updating the bookmark.
