Hi all,
I have a page with multiple bookmark navigators, where one set (for 2 different visuals) is a part of another set (which allows to switch between 2 sections of the page).
Below is a screenshot of the page, where if Offline bookmark is selected, you can choose between viewing 2 visuals - Sales and Visits, which are also bookmarks. both Online/Offline and Sales/Visits are bookmark navigators. bear in mind that when Offline is selected, Sales should show as a default view - this is how the bookmark was created.
The issue is if I'm in Visits view and then select Online, and then go back to Offline, it shows Sales visual, but the selection in the bookmark navigator is kept as Visits, assuming because it was the last selection - see discrepancy outlined in pink.
Is there a fix to avoid this discrepancy and essentially prescribe the selection in the navigator, so that it also has Sales selected by default? Or is it an unresolved issue by Microsoft? I've seen posts about this issue from as early as 2021 and I can't believe it still hasn't been fixed?!

Hi @kristinamol
Thanks for sharing the detailed explanation and screenshot. This is a known behaviour with Power BI’s Bookmark Navigator.
As you've observed, when switching from Visits to Online and then back to Offline, the Sales visual loads correctly, but the bookmark navigator button still highlights “Visits”. This happens because the Bookmark Navigator remembers the last selection and doesn’t reset to the default view even if the bookmark itself does.
Suggested Workaround: To work around this limitation, you can:
While this involves more manual setup, it ensures both the visual and the button state remain in sync, avoiding confusion for end users.
This has been a reported limitation since 2021, and as of now, there’s no native fix from Microsoft to fully reset navigator selections via bookmarks. The manual approach provides full control until an official enhancement is released.
Since this hasn't been officially addressed by Microsoft yet, I’d recommend using the manual workaround shared earlier to ensure consistency in user experience.

Hi @v-priyankata , unfortunately the suggested solution (field parameters) is not applicable as my example presents a simplified version of the actual page I have on my project. It is clearly a bug in Power BI, however, I'm surprised it exists given bookmark navigators have been available for years. As suggested by @Daniel29195 , I will share an actual pbix to play around with

hi @kristinamol ,
if i understand correctly, you want when selecting offline, the sales bookmark to be also selected .
i dont think there are a bug for this specific scenario.
sales selected when offline :
now if i click on offline :
visits is being selected by default when selecting offline.
would you consider instead of creating bookmarks for visits / sales , to create a field parameter that will switch between sales measure and visits measure in the visual.
this way you will have only bookmarks for the online/ offline buttons. and when offline is selected, you can select "visits" in the slicer reading the field parameter .
if this is not possible,
could you please share a testing power bi file with the problem so i can take a look ?
