Bom where component is also finished
I'm trying to work with a Bill Of material, but it's giving me a bit of a headache.
I have the following raw data.
As can be seens the 13111894 product is in it's own right a finished product as well.
Which means in the table below, it should also appear as a level 1 item, not just as a part of 10101015. Also can i get rid of the blank item codes?
For ease, i'm currently using PATH in DAX, but will eventually move to Power Query with a function i have, as i don't know how many levels there will be in real data.

Hi Anonymous ,
A hierarchy is a set of fields categorized in a hierarchical fashion, where one level is the parent of another. The values of the parent level can be drilled down to lower levels.
In your data, the order in which you placed them is Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and there is only 10101015 in Level 1, and 13111894 in Level 2 is in the next level down from 10101015, so it is placed in the matrix to show 13111894 as the second level
If you place Level 1 as [Finished] and Level 2 as [Component], then that's showing what you want to see, because 13111894 appears not only in Level 1, but also in Level 2.

When you refer to getting rid of the blank code, do you mean the blank under 10101015.
Create measure:
Measure = IF( HASONEVALUE(BOM[Level 2])&&MAX('BOM'[Level 2])=BLANK(),BLANK(),SUM('BOM'[Qty in Production]))Best Regards,

Hi Anonymous
Hmm it almost solves it, but i'd still like to be able to drill down via 10101015 through 13111894 to the componenents used in 13111894 which seems to still not be possible with what you suggest?
