Bins not working on Date/Time field

Have a field in date/time format that won't create a visual when a new bin group is created on that field. Receiving an error:

Are you using a direct query connection to Oracle?

But in my opinion, you only need a direct query connection if you need to show (near) real-time data. In all other cases Import data is the way to go.

Yes, using a direct query connection as you mentioned we were hoping to use it for fairly real-time data.
