Hello,
like in a topic, looking for best practices for community users in order to add conditional formatting for bar charts /line charts with legends?
Accordingly to this topic:
https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Desktop/How-to-add-conditional-color-formatting-for-cluste...
there is no option right now to do this.
What are your workarounds for it? Best practices?
What if your boss sees all those ugly theme colors shown in a bar chart with legend?
Best,
Jacek
Setting up colors manually is a disaster...
Imagine that new categories in the next month will entirely change...it means that you lose all your colors and power bi use those theme ones because color is assigned to category, not to the highest value.
Best,
Jacek
Hello @jaryszek,
Thank you for your query. We recommend raising an idea in the Ideas forum (Fabric Ideas - Microsoft Fabric Community). If it receives more upvotes, the Microsoft team will review and consider implementing it in future updates.
Thank you,

Hello @jaryszek,
Thank you for the clarification. Since native conditional formatting for bar or line charts with legends isn’t currently supported in Power BI, which is why I suggested the Ideas forum as a way to propose this feature for future consideration. Many Power BI developers rely on manual color assignments in the Data colors pane to ensure visually appealing and consistent charts. They often use custom color palettes for a professional look and test accessibility with the color-blind preview. For dynamic needs, some developers use custom visuals like Deneb or Charticulator from AppSource, which allow more control over colors based on data fields. Sorting is typically managed with built-in options or custom DAX measures like RANKX for flexibility.
Thank you,
Ganesh Singamshetty
thank you.

Jacek
