I have images stored as binary in a database field. I am converting these to base 64 and using a Dax expression to create the following dataset column : ="data:image/jpeg;base64, " & [ImageBase64]
Most of the images are displaying fine but some are being cropped:
I've checked the size of the images and none of them are more than 500x500px or more than 1MB.
Any ideas what may be causing it?
I've created a simple SSRS report table and they display fine there. Is it something to do with converting to base64?
Thanks
I've discovered it is because the length of the base64 string is greater than the max accepted string length in Power BI (32766 characters).
Is there a way to reduce the size of an image in the data model or can I do it via SQL server/ another package?
Hi andy_scott42,
I'm afraid you should compress the image string data size in database because power bi doesn't support such feature. You can submit your idea here: https://ideas.powerbi.com.
