Bar chart not displaying correctly

Hi

 

After exporting data from excel, the bar chart of that data is not displaying correctly. I need the x axis to display from January through to June however it is being ordered by deceasing value rather than month.

 

How do i correct this?

    Of course, 

     

    You can see in the picture below that I am sorting by months in the chart, so what I did was make a seperate day collum for the days in  numeric order. This is a simple and easy fix to get your months to line up ( if you dont care about the day by which you are sorting). If you sort by day from the modeling tab the months will be in order. I hoped this cleared things up!

    Hello! 

     

    I had this problem for a while to. You need to make sure you have the date(or day) tab in your excel sheet to match up with the months. Then if you go into power bi and highlight the months catgetory for the data you are plugging in and look under the modeling tab at the top you will see " Sort ", if you click that you cant sort by date making the months in order! hope this helps

      My fault here but can you explain what you mean by "You need to make sure you have the date(or day) tab in your excel sheet to match up with the months."

    Hi

     

    I have exported an excel table into power bi however the bar chart of the data is not displaying how i would like it to. It is being sorted on the x axis in descending value rather than from January through to June as per my table.

     

    How can i rectify this?
