Bar chart for dynamic YTD and PYTD periods

I am trying to create a dynamic bar chart to show YTD vs PYTD.

The issue I am running into is applying the same date range filter on the PYTD period, which is returning as the full year value.

I have weekly data, and I am trying to make a FYTD24vFY23 bar visual (FY begins 7/1).

Using sum(Sales[sales]) yields a visual that includes 52 weeks for FY23 and 32 weeks for FY24:

I would like to have both periods be the same increment of time. In this example I have weekly data, but in most cases my data is daily, so the most recent actualized period is desired. Also would be intesting to be able to calculate for more than just PY, but every year prior (e.g. FY22, FY21, etc.).

@JoeChar

can you share a representation of the problem you are facing ?

and how you would like the output to be ?

that would be helpful.

best regards
