Balance Sheet & Income Statement in PowerBI
Hi All,
Thank you for reading my post. I am looking for an "accounting data model" that can be used for the income statement or Balance Sheet preparation. ( PBI Desktop File)
I would really appreciate your help on this.
Thank you once again.

Hi BhaveshPatel
this might help: http://www.thebiccountant.com/2016/07/21/easy-profit-loss-account-scheme-reports-power-bi-power-pivot-dax/
It connects to the Contoso-DB. Haven't checked, but there might be balance-sheet figures in it as well.

Much Appreciated. I would like to show to the accounting students how you can use powerbi to create such reports in PowerBI.
One Product = Many applications.
Thank you once again.
Kind Regards,

Hi Bhavesh
We are building Income Statment and Balanace Sheet reports using power BI. We are facing two problems.
1. How to subtract two subtaotla to get Gross Profit and Loss values. Detailed problem is expliane in below ticket.
https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Profit-Loss-on-Matrix-Table-in-power-BI/td-p/508365
2. When we show to the total in the end we want insted of total subtraction of Assets- (Liabilities & Euqity)=0
We are able to get this for Selected month with below measure not how to apply time dimension on those to get Prior month, Prior Qtr, Prior Year
Thanks

One option is to use an existing Balance Sheet or Income Statement dashboard template as a starting point rather than building the accounting data model from scratch. These typically come with a structured model and pre-built measures that can save a lot of time and help ensure best practices are followed.
