Advocate VBUG: Cannot hide category label for card visuals
Just found out a bug that is pestering me. I managed to replicate this on about 5 machines so far (each one I tried) and so did other users. I was wondering if the rest of the community could replicate it? I was able to reproduce this with the January 2016 update.
Steps to reproduce:
- Run Power BI Desktop.
- At a blank new report, click ENTER DATA at the ribbon.
- One column or cell is sufficient to replicate the issue. Simply type "example" in cell A1 (the header), then type 2112 (or any other numerical value) on cell A2.
- Name the table and click on load. Make sure that the option "My table has headers" is selected.
- Back at the main window, drag the field "example" onto the report canvas, then change the visual to a card.
- Now try turning the category label of the card off. Can you do it?
I wonder if everybody else can replace the issue.

you're right. I cannot switch off the category label when I create the visualization
BUT
If you change type of visualization and then return to the "Card Visualization" it accept the change and hide the category label.
Let me know if it works.

Ah-ha! you are right :)
Clunky but works. Well definitely a bug but happy to see that there is a quick way to obtain the desired result, which is way better than just changing the category label colour to match the background.
STILL A BUG, though :smileylol:
