BI queries
I have few queries regarding the BI tool.
1-For Roll out the custom theme, we have to put a JSON file in a common folder and asking them to download it themselves, or is there an alternative way?
2-Whats the difference between importing the JSON theme in the desktop and service.(any restriction between .pbit or .pbix?)

(1)In desktop , you can apply theme for report from three ways ,
- Select from the available built-in report themes that are built into Power BI Desktop
- Customize a theme, using the Customize theme dialog
- Import a custom theme JSON file.
Employees can go to get the theme, but the theme will not be automatically provided to employees .
(2)For service , JSON theme is used in dashboard not for report .Report can change its background through Format settings .
In this way, different themes can be set for report and dashboard .

1. Yes, Users can import the theme from a local folder / shared folder .
2. When you import the theme in service, you will be importing it from dashboard & not from the report. Your report and dashboard can have different theme and you will have the option to retain the report theme or to use the dashboard theme.
