Azure Map Search by Location

Hi,

For the ArcGIS map visual in Power BI, there is a Search function which I can enter a location. Is such functionality available in Azure Map visual too? Thanks!

Hi @meiwah

Sadly this is currently not a feature.

You could use a slicer with the search option but that would be limited to your data and would filter the visual down. If you weren't using conditional formatting or legend already it would be possible to change the searched for data point to a different colour.

Another visual with a larger scope is MapBox visual.

This is a custom visual that comes with 100,000 free monthly impressions.

It allows search boxes, multiple layers and some truly astounding visuals.

If you don't already have this bookmarked, I would highly recommend it:

This is a Power BI report tracking upcoming changes. Sadly the GeoSpatial section doesn not include the above feature 😞

Just note the Mapbox visual is no longer supported by Mapbox, so use it with caution, as future Power BI updates may break it and no fixes or security patches will be provided.
