Average sales per Item per rep

Trying to create a new measure that will calculate the average total sales for an employee.  We sell two items and the average is working correctly for the item that is sold more often but for some reason the average for the other item is only calculating the average based on days that they sold that item.  So for example a sales person has sold 12 of Item A on 12 days worked for an average of 1 and 6 of Item B on 15 days worked but sold all 6 of the items on 1 day so it is showing an average of 6.  How would I have it so that the average comes out to the correct number of .5?
