i would like to have excel file stored in sharepoint

where to stored in sharepoint? folder or create sharepoint list?

what will be root URL link for power bi link to?

thanks

  • Hi yuhkao

After you publish reports from Desktop to Power BI Service,

To make the reports refresh schedully in Power BI Service,

Please find the dataset name ->go to "Setting"->Edit credential, provide the same credential as Power BI Desktop granted.

    Hi yuhkao

You could define excel files directly in Sharepoint list or upload your excel files from local driver to a Sharepoint library.

When you connect to a Sharepint library, you may see the url is like

    https://partner.onmicrosoft.com/sites/[Your Site Name]/SitePages/Home.aspx

use the red part in the Sharepoint folder connector.

    See details here:

    https://powerbi.tips/2016/09/loading-excel-files-from-sharepoint/

Reference how to configure auto refresh for power bi dataset with MS Flow:

    https://sharegate.com/blog/using-power-bi-for-additional-sharepoint-reporting

either source excel file from Sharepoint list or Sharepoint floder can be refreshed.

i am facing error now... can someone help?

Data source errorIt looks like scheduled refresh failed because at least one data source is missing credentials. To start the refresh again, go to this dataset's settings page and enter credentials for all data sources.
