April 2020 Version Issue

Currently my Power Bi Desktop Version is updated to Version: 2.80.5803.1061 64-bit (April 2020)

I was developing a BOT with the older version of Power BI where it was able to recognize objects like "File", "Edit", "View" etc but now even if we point it to the new objects in the new version, it is not able to recognize.

Also, the shortcuts (Alt + "") are not working in this new version which work in almost every Microsoft Product.

Is this a bug or are we not going to have this feature in Power Bi anymore?

Any leads will be appreciated.

@v-yingjl Hi,

I want the keyboard functions to perform the functionalities like - "Open a report", "Save"/"Save as", "Refresh" etc

Basically the options available in the File Menu.

Do we have any new shortcuts for these? Because Alt + "" is not working anymore.

Hi @Anonymous ,

The alt +"" shortcuts seems to be removed in recent version of power bi.

You can use these universal shortcuts:

F12: Save as file

Ctrl + S: Save file

Ctrl + O: Open a file

To refresh in power bi desktop, you need to click the refresh button manually or you can try to download previous version of power bi desktop as I previous posted to try.

@v-yingjl  Thankyou so much. This helps a lot. Is there any shortcut for the option "Export to PDF" by any chance that you are aware off?

Hi @Anonymous ,

I'm afraid not. Perhaps you can submit the requirement to ideas and add your comments there to help us improve power bi and make this feature coming sooner: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas

You could check the Issues forum, https://aka.ms/PBI_Comm_Issues

You are right about the Alt+ stuff, didn't notice that. Tough to say, they got rid of the right-click on the page navigation arrows which a lot of people liked.
